Originally known as the Medicine Shoppe, established in 1977, the company's first location was on Dartmouth Street in New Bedford's South end. A second location was opened in 1986 on Acushnet Avenue in the North End of the city. The company became PharmaHealth Pharmacy in April of 2006, with the addition of two new locations on Faunce Corner Road in North Dartmouth.
Mr. Richard Brisson, R. Ph. has led this growth as Owner and Chief Executive Officer while also frequently working as the On Duty Pharmacist at the Dartmouth Street location.
"The people of our area know PharmaHealth to be a true neighborhood Pharmacy with sincere and personal service, including specialty compounding of medications for themselves and their pets when needed," he said.

In October of 2007, Philip Falzarano, R.Ph. joined the pharmacy as Chief Operations Officer, bringing his expertise in business pharmacy to help us grow and develop our patient services, outreach programs with the community and overall quality of patient satisfaction. With the continued growth and success of the pharmacy, PharmaHealth has increased its team of 28 women and men to over 40 during the course of the past three years. “All of our employee’s dedications to our motto of "Life's Total Care" are a group of people of which I am very proud to associate. And, working with Richard Brisson has been nothing short of spectacular as we bring PharmaHealth Pharmacy to the next level of service in our region," Mr. Falzarano said.
In the months leading up to 2010, PharmaHealth Pharmacy has seen expansion of its professional staff with the addition of a patient services team, specializing in HIV/AIDS services, a sales & marketing team, additional clinical pharmacists and technicians and a much needed receptionist at our LTC location.
