What is Compounding and Why is it Done?
Compounding is the mixing of drugs by a pharmacist or a trained compounding pharmacy technician who is supervised by a registered pharmacist. Some patients do not respond well to traditional treatment, have a unique need or medical condition. Since commercially made medications are only available in limited strengths, forms and flavors, often a compounding pharmacy, such as PharmaHealth is called on for a solution.![]()
Medically Necessary Reasons – to change the form of the medication from a solid pill to a liquid for those who have a hard time swallowing or require a feeding tube
